Began setting up project and learning how to make the bot.
June 16Bot begins posting every frame in order to @SPTOFrames with one frame every 10 minutes using a third-party npm package.
June 18Attempt to post about the bot to r/ScottPilgrim but my messages keep getting automatically filtered. I ultimately decide to let the bot grow naturally.
June 19Bot finishes the intro credits and moves to the first episode.
June 23Bot is temporarily stopped due to X's system flagging the account for suspicious activity.
June 26Another API key is generated and I try to start the bot back up while on vacation using remote desktop, which does not work.
June 27Third API key generated, bot is successfully started again. A few hours later the account is rightfully permanently suspended due to violating X's bot policies. @spto_frames account gets created. I message @tpguy825 (creator of @fnaf_frames) about his bot that posted every 5 minutes somehow without being banned. Emails on my main X accounts are adjusted to hopefully prevent them getting suspended too.
November 4A new bot @spto_frames begins posting random frames once every 90 minutes.
November 9I get the old code running, and sptoframes.bsky.social begins posting frames in order just like the original account.
November 29I check in on @spto_frames to shockingly find it now has 169 followers.
December 5@spto_frames has 564 followers.
December 19@spto_frames has 887 followers.
December 22sptoframes.bsky.social gets shut down by me due to the lack of traction the account is getting in relation to how much computing power it uses for grabbing frames.
December 26@tpguy825 responds to my message after 6 months, and very helpfully explains how his bot worked.
December 30@spto_frames surpasses 1,000 followers, becoming the only bot I use now.
April 1, 2025@spto_frames surpasses 2,500 followers.
April 19The bot begins to post a movie frame instead of a show frame once every 12 hours.
≈May 10@spto_frames surpasses 3,000 followers.
