It’s the oldest anarchy server in Minecraft, as in there are very few rules outside of a few anti-hacking plugins and it’s basically impossible to get banned. I have heard if you lag out the server or something then you’re stopped, but that’s about it. Anything else goes, and all the other players just have to deal with it.
2b2t’s world has a limited player capacity due to the server’s admin being a greedy little baby. I refused to pay for the $20 to get priority queue access, which would let me enter the server way faster. Instead, I decided to wait in the around 400 player queue, which took around 8 hours.
Eventually though, I was able to catch me reaching the front of the line and joining. I spawn atop a lavacast, and the first thing I see? A swastika made of obsidian in the distance. I turn the other way to take my first screenshot.
Exploring spawn whist trying to escape was pretty fun, I got to see a few things. I died a handful of times before making any real progress.
I knew better than to walk into random Nether portals near spawn. The other side could be blocked off, rendering me stuck. However, I’m pretty sure there was/is a server plugin that will kick you back through the portal if you go through then don’t leave it for a while.
Inevitably, I had my first encounter with another player. They had full enchanted netherite armor, and they dropped me an enchanted golden apple. I tried doing the universal crouching dance to show my thanks.
If I run, I’ll be killed. If I log out, I may have to wait in the queue again and when I rejoin I might be in lava. If I try to fight, I will lose. I had learned in basic guides about escaping 2b2t spawn that if you encounter a player like this, the best thing to do is stay peaceful and still, as they will most likely drop you an item or two then leave you alone. Just when I thought this would be the case, the player motioned for me to follow them. I didn’t have much of a choice, so I followed. I was led to a large obsidian box, to which the player mined a small hole into it. I could see that there were two other player nametags seemingly also in the box already. I crouched and took a look inside, and realized that if I stepped in I probably wasn’t gonna get out. So, with me not yet through the doorway, I backed out, shook my head at the player, and began running.
As expected, I didn’t get too far before I was attacked. The player used an elytra with fireworks to reach me, but they overshot me a few times lol. I lasted longer than I thought I would.
If I remember correctly, after dying more times I got lucky once and spawned on the surface of this large obsidian expanse.
This allowed me to make a good amount of progress in distance without having to worry about much of anything.
After walking for what felt like was far enough, I decided to enter a nether portal.
I went through the portal, and I thankfully wasn’t blocked off on the other side. I tried to get to a highway, and was quickly met by another player.
This player was much more helpful, giving me decent amount of good items. He left by running away whist placing many melon blocks, which I found very helpful for food. I’m pretty sure the banners were named something that advertised the “Melon Men”? Perhaps they were a group of people who helped people in spawn in part by distributing melons.
After some exploring I decided that it might be time to go back through a portal to get some Overworld materials.
I went through the portal… and was instantly blown up. I wish I got a screenshot of it, but I was jump scared by the explosion and was both shaken and laughing at what had happened.
Anyway, I lost all the loot I was donated and was again left with nothing. Womp womp.
I was able to retrieve some of the melons that were left on the highway, as whoever that player was left some all the way back to the world’s origin. After some more walking and dying, I went through some portals to the Overworld hoping for the best.
These didn’t really work out, so I had to keep going down a highway.
After enough walking, I was able to get far enough to find my first signs of not completely destroyed terrain. I came out to the middle of an ocean, but on one side about 200 blocks away there was a wall of generated terrain along chunk borders. I boated over and climbed up the steep drop, allowing me to see my first trees. These trees were pretty destroyed though, so I started walking further. And after just a little longer, and over 68 thousand blocks away from spawn, I was able to get my first log. (I must’ve found the stone axe somewhere along the way.)
I killed a skeleton for some bones, and was able to tame a wolf. I was pretty stressed about it being night time, and wanted a place to stay. Whist I was doing this, a creeper snuck up behind me and blew me up. Again.
I could hear the sound effect of a wolf dying, letting me know my dog has also been blown up. I never found any sheep, so I respawned back at the world’s origin. Womp womp.
I realized that I had gotten so far from spawn, and now had to make the entire journey back. It took a while, but I actually managed to remember the path that I took. I was able to return to the exact spot I had died, and retrieved all of my items. Sweet!
But I couldn’t rest now, and had to keep moving.
I was able to find some passive mobs, and finally make myself a bed. I mined into a mountain, and made a hole that I could respawn in if I died at some point.
Sometimes during this post I’ll censor data that may lead to the locations of things I’ve built. It might not be perfect, but I’ll do my best.
I kept walking through seemingly untouched terrain, eventually reaching an ocean and boating for a while. That’s when I came across this beautiful small island, with flowers and animals on it.
I decided that this would be my temporary home for me to gather materials before heading off on my real journey out from spawn.
The surrounding area had an ocean monument and a desert village, which was pretty cool.
I was really starting to get comfy in this cozy area of such a disgusting yet fascinating server.
By this point though, I had spent long enough on the server and it was time to log off. I think I had a pretty successful first day on 2b2t.
The next time I got onto the server though, I came prepared. I had actually gone and gotten a hack client that worked with the fabric mod loader, along with a minimap mod and Baritone. I used Baritone whist AFK and got over two and a half stacks of diamonds.
After exploring further, I actually came across the ruins of a large base.
The last image was taken with freecam.
I wondered how long ago this base was made here. Judging by the signs it was griefed at least two years ago. I knew well enough that even at this distance from spawn, builds were not safe from being stumbled upon. Y’know, cause I just did. Did the person (or more likely, people) who made this base know that? Did they really think that this was far enough away? Did the builder(s) ever see the destruction of their base? I had many questions that seemed to be unanswerable.
I kept gathering resources and exploring.
After gathering the resources I needed, I decided that it was time to head out soon. I took some screenshots of my final minutes on the island.
After gathering all that I could, I headed out. Bye island!
After going through the portal I destroyed the one in the nether, then made my way back to the nearest highway. There were actually a few portals not far from mine, but I was too lazy to go through all of them.
Anyway, I began walking again.
Also, I’m going to censor the bedrock on the ceiling of these highways for the next few screenshots, as I believe that can lead to figuring out the screenshot’s location.
Eventually, I got tried of just running around, so I decided to stop by to get a horse. Going through a randomly placed portal on the highway was always a gamble in my mind, and I always got nervous each time I did it.
Fortunately, I got pretty lucky on my first portal, as I found horses nearby.
I tamed and took a horse into the nether, and we were on our way. I didn’t want to give this guy a name, in case I got too attached to him and got sad when I lose him.
I stumbled upon another ruined base along the way. This one was at a coordinate milestone, so that’s probably why it didn’t last. Only half of it was destroyed really, so it wasn’t that bad.
Found these two signs and a smoker on the highway, so I added to it by placing a bone in.
Riding in a straight line for so long gets boring. I passed the time by watching YouTube, and sometimes reading the game chat. There’s plenty of entertaining stuff in there. (Warning for slurs and other gross profanity)
I wrote the sign on the right in this one:
I’m gonna go back to leaving coordinates and bedrock uncensored now, as I’m far enough from my first base.
I saw more portals than I expected along my way. I started going though them as I was curious, but they were all leading to nothing but untouched Overworld. What I did do was use these portals to AFK. I would enter the portal, run away for a bit, encase myself in a hole, then wait. This would let me go off and eat or use the bathroom without worrying about someone finding me and killing me on the highway. I would also typically place a bed in these hidden areas too, just to set my spawn in case I died in some other way. I did not want to have to start my journey all over again.
Cool ice and rail track, too bad it wasn’t in the direction I wanted to go.
I would stop at coordinate milestones when I could. This was the 400K south milestone.
I was really surprised by this long water way that was all the way out here. I have since found out it was a large southern canal project. Pretty cool and impressive!
It was here that I participated in my first act of actual griefing, which was burning down the nearby forest.
I was now over 340,000 blocks away from my original base!
A few more screenshots along my journey.
500K milestone, with the canal presumably still going.
Not exactly sure what this is supposed to say. POLCIG? PONIS? I think there’s more on the right side that I cut off.
Interestingly, the 600K milestone was more fleshed-out than the 500K.
This is a large pyramid made of blocks of coal. I picked some up as they would be good for smelting.
A large sign board across the canal, along with some lava casts in the background.
Leaving my own sign.
I saw a downward track in a lavacast, and I was going to see where it went, but I didn’t have a minecart on me. I used the freecam hack to have a peek, and I saw a small pit of lava at the end. Whoever did decide to ride the track would’ve ended up in there. This, I think, is likely the funniest thing I saw on the entire server.
If I remember correctly, a creeper exploded behind me (I really don’t learn) and got me down to 2 HP.
…Anyway, here’s a large farm that also had some chickens to feed.
A view of the canal at night.
Getting back on the road.
After some time I found the remains of a player, with some actually decent loot to grab.
I kept what I could, then realized I had lost my horse as he has wondered off. He did this a few times whist I was exploring parts of the Overworld, but this time was especially tough for some reason. However, during my search, two players flew by on elytras. This had happened I think two times before this while I was riding my horse. Both times they just flew past in less than a second and I never saw them again. But this time…
The player kurusoup stopped and asked through a whisper “are you in need of anythign”. I was honestly terrified. My last interaction with a player was back at spawn, where dying really wasn’t that much of an issue. Now I was 89 thousand blocks away in the Nether without being able to remember when I last set slept in a bed. However, I took the chance that this person was genuinely going to help, and responded with acceptance.
The next thing I know, I’m being decked out with some crazy maxed out diamond gear, and other very useful items.
This player was incredibly friendly, giving me more items that I could carry, so I had to start crafting shulker boxes using more of the items they provided. I’m given totems of undying, enchanted everything including an elytra, fireworks, and they even gave me cooked cod, the exact food I holding and eating along my journey.
kurusoup: well I am kinda poor too so sorry
me: hey this is way more than I could’ve asked for
happy to hear :3
This player also gave me some advice on how I could improve my 2b2t experience.
actually I do have Meteor
also meteor has elytra fly.go into that
sweet
We talked about my non-priority queue status too.
also u got no prio right
what’s prio?
priority queue
I do not
I’ve been waiting the hours each time lol, this is only my third
you can use zenith proxy
I’m pretty sure I have a vague understanding of what Zenith Proxy is and what it does, but the main use case for me is that it can wait in the 2b2t queue for you, allowing you to save computer resources and hassle. It also can connect to a Discord bot, so that I can monitor my progress in the queue any time I want. Very useful, and I’m glad kurusoup let me know about it.
A nearby piglin actually took some of my armor and tools I dropped while trying to make room for this new gear.
NOOO
he got armour now XD
u can make as much as shulks as possible
tho dont use all of them lOL
also hurry!!! somebody might come
true!!
if u dont want anything else i am going :)
yeah I’m good
wait if I could get an ender chest that would be great
I was given a stack of ender chests after that request lol.
imma go!now
see ya!
goodbye :) i really trust u staying in 2b2t LOL
yk what i mean sorry
thanks again!!
:3

This was definitely my most successful interaction on the server, and probably on any other Minecraft server I’ve joined.
I learned from my previous mistake of dying with all my new stuff, so instead of putting to use all of the new items, I instantly threw them all into an ender chest so that I could recover them in case I died. The one issue is that I was only given one elytra, so I was going to wear that.
I put to use this “elytra fly/bounce” hack my client apparently had, info given by kurusoup. This was incredibly effective, and I could cover large distances much quicker than I could before. This, unfortunately, made my horse obsolete.
Bye buddy, you were good, but this is exactly why I didn’t give you a name. I’m glad you didn’t go out with death, but you might be killed at some point in the future. In hindsight maybe I should have left this guy with other horses in a place that wasn’t a swamp, but oh well.
Anyway, I was off again, now much, much faster due to my elytra along with the hack/exploit/macro my client had. It didn’t even use any fireworks, which was very useful. I made it to the 800K milestone pretty soon.
The elytra made it easier to explore the areas I stopped at.
Small floating island that I believe was at the 900K milestone, but I forget.
I read more chat to pass the time.
After some more time of flying, I finally reached the one million block milestone.
The only thing there was a single ender chest, so I decided to add a little wooden platform on the surface of the water. (I’m dumb and didn’t screenshot my little build)
This was my biggest milestone yet, so I spent a good amount of time exploring.
The issue was this place wasn’t very cool, as it was pretty much all griefed and destroyed.
Now, my plan with this was not to branch off of the 1M south milestone to build my base. I was going to go west for another 1M blocks in the Overworld. Yes, it would’ve been faster to go diagonally, but I didn’t know I was going to get an elytra to make that journey easier. Besides, had I done that I wouldn’t have encountered that player that gave me one. Or, maybe, I would have encountered a different player that gave me even better stuff. I dunno!
But anywhos, I set off again.
I stopped by an almost untouched island. Here’s an example of a bed I placed along my journey to respawn at, now with an ender chest to allow me to get some gear immediately.
This part was interesting, as there were still items on the ground when I arrived.
Small area of swamp, perhaps there’s more out of render distance though.
Abandoned boat someone left here.
After more flying… for the same distance that I had already traveled… I made it to the -X +Z 1M diagonal milestone.
This place was much more interesting, and there was plenty to see.
My addition. Not here to advertise a group or spread hate to any minorities, just balls haha. …Probably didn’t last long as I didn’t really have obsidian to use.
Me standing at exactly -1M, 1M
Nice little statue.
Night view.
Nearby sheep in the Nether.
Now, this is where I decided to branch out and find my own spot away from highways to build a base. I’m going to try and keep my path and the final base location a secret, but like I said before, it’s possible I let something slip.
As I traveled off the highway and into new land, I actually saw two lavafalls form and fall down to the lava ocean, meaning I was definitely in new chunks.
I followed the guides I could find online, being sure to build my return portal in or around new Nether terrain. I was also sure to fly far, then backtrack a bit to build my portal not at the end of the chunks I loaded. It was pretty stressful, but eventually I found and settled on an area that should’ve been good.
I stepped though into some badlands, and built a little regrouping area.
It was here that I set my spawn point, then went back through the portal with only my diamond pickaxe. I destroyed the portal on the Nether side and made sure there was no trace of me being there.
I then jumped into lava to die, and to make sure all of my items and experience points burnt.
This was the most stressful part, where I had to make sure I had set my spawn so that I didn’t respawn back at the world’s origin. Thankfully, I did everything right and was back in the Overworld, alone, in the middle of nowhere.
I kept the bed, just in case I died in my mission to find a suitable place to build.
I flew around and found two villages whilst I was debating between a few options on the location of where I would build. I decided on a home next to a jungle, close to the ocean, and was both riverside and lakeside. I was over 1.4 million blocks away from the world’s origin, and so I began building whatever I was in the mood for.
I could now actually use the tools that I was given by kurusoup, which was satisfying. I debated on renaming the items, but I figured since they came with names, I should respect whatever the owner decided on.
The screenshot above is especially interesting, because it shows a player in chat named OldLadyNorth, a player I had heard about in a YouTube video.
She got invited to a peaceful group that helped players at spawn, but she quickly turned against them. For the next 10 months she slowly leaked classified information about the group to rivals, and at the end helped organize a massive griefing of the group’s bases and resources. She did all of this while pretending to be friends with group members, and acting like she had nothing to do with any of the griefing that was happening, up until the final betrayal in which she was discovered then admitted everything.
I remember watching the video and just wondering how someone could actually do that, throwing away the many genuine friendships she could have made and kept. While yes, this is a Minecraft block game that shouldn’t be taken too seriously, it really does take a certain kind of person to fake being friends with people for months. There were three messages shared at the end of the video from group members privately messaging OldLadyNorth, and it’s clear they were actually affected by such acts of backstabbing.
It’s crazy that stuff like this happened in this server, and it was just as crazy to see OldLadyNorth in game while I was on too. I cannot imagine still playing on the server 6 months after doing that either. I’ve done backstabbing in video games before, and it’s always an event I do to leave a situation I dislike. Playing on the same server that people who hate you are also on is just ridiculous to me. Perhaps OldLadyNorth got in that griefing group she was leaking stuff to, but I obviously do not know.
Anyway, I was reflecting on this whilst continuing to build.
My building in Minecraft is currently driven by inspiration from builds by Pixlriffs, though I’m not exactly sure how well I do it. If anything I try to make stuff look interesting and different, and that’s been fun!
Not sure if I actually enjoy building like this though, as it is pretty difficult and does feel messy at times.
Aside from that, pretty soon I was finished with the exterior of the house.
I had some trouble finding stuff to put inside, especially after having very little motivation to do anything else at this point. I had a few ideas though.
I built a little mailbox outside for people to write into, just on the very low chance a player comes across my base without destroying it.
I was pretty proud of what I built, so I took a few more pictures with freecam.
At some point I killed a pillager patrol and started a raid at the nearby village one night. That was fun, as I had never actually done a raid in survival mode before. It was tough, even with the armor and tools I had, but I took inspiration from A Minecraft Movie and had some Iron Golems aid me in the fight.
And with that, there wasn’t much left to do there. Going so far out into the world pretty much made it so that I was playing a single player world at that point.
I can understand why people would want to play on this server more, if they did things that were different from what I did. Maybe build a base closer to spawn, so that you have the risk of whatever you make getting demolished. Or maybe going back to spawn to kill players who are either new or also decked out in gear.
Whatever ways people have fun on this server, I just didn’t see how it would be worth my time specifically. And so, I logged off for my final long session on 2b2t.
There was a time where I showed one of my friends my base on the server, as they expressed some amount of interest in me having played on 2b2t. I used Zenith Proxy to get me on the server, and I only joined for about ten minutes before leaving.
I really just kinda forgot about 2b2t for a bit, keeping it in the back of my mind that I should at some point write this blog post.
Almost three months to the day since I first joined 2b2t, I rejoined to see how my base was doing. Not very surprisingly, it was still there, untouched, with no mail in my mailbox. I mean, I didn’t go out 1.4 million blocks just for my base to be discovered in 90 days. So for now, my main base will remain.
A little addition to the interior I made:
However, I do believe that my first base that I stayed at temporarily won’t be so lucky. It was much closer to spawn, and around existing player activity. As I write this blog post, I’m currently using another account to wait in the 2b2t queue, so that I can arrive at spawn and try to travel to my first base. I’m really curious as to what has happened to it in the three months, if anything.
I’ll try to update this post if I ever manage to see what had happened.
So, what did I think about 2b2t? Overall, I liked it. I’ve heard about 2b2t for years, watching many FitMC and SalC1 videos about the server. It’s such an interesting thing that exists in this world, and I’m very glad I was able to be a part of it in some way. I’ve played on other rip-off anarchy servers before, but they just don’t feel the same as the historical 2b2t.
Seeing the simultaneous kindness and wrath of players who were on the same server was neat, and the few players that I met on the server were fun to interact with, whether or not they were even kind. It really was a unique environment to participate in.
Will I continue to play on 2b2t? No. It takes way too long to get in, I’m incredibly far away from spawn and any other players or builds, and I’m already burnt out of Minecraft for now.
If anything, I would just play on another anarchy server that doesn’t have a queue (or at least a much shorter one), then build close to spawn so that I have that thrill of risking all of my progress on luck. If you know me, you’ll know that losing progress on anything is one of my worst feelings, but as long as I know that the progress I’m making isn’t going to last and that I don’t need to try that hard, then I’m fine with it. Kinda like the Buddhist tradition of sand mandala… maybe. No disrespect to that intended.
So yeah, that’s my 2b2t experience; I hoped you enjoyed reading about it. If you wanna mention anything about 2b2t to me, feel free to contact me and let me know!
I’ll leave you with my final screenshots on the server. Buh-bye!
